Description

The RadIs 2026 workshop will bring together the community of mostly US National Lab scientists involved with the research, development, and production of radioactive isotopes with primarily university-based radiochemists, nuclear scientists, and users from the fundamental science community to develop strategic opportunities for research with radioactive isotopes. The workshop will strengthen links and enhance synergies between these communities, laying the groundwork to ultimately deliver scientific discoveries and technical breakthroughs that have spinoffs in energy and national security and provide economic benefit to the nation.

This year’s workshop aims to align the technical demands of fundamental physics with the operational capabilities of world-class facilities like ORNL and FRIB. By highlighting the synergy between fundamental science, workforce development in quantum technologies, and the unique isotope production infrastructure in the United States, we aim to establish a long-term roadmap to ensure isotope availability for fundamental discovery which benefits scientists across disciplines via information exchange and collaborative technique development.

There is no registration fee. The registration deadline is July 1, 2026 for non-US citizens.
