A reception will be organized on Monday the 25th of August at 6:30PM in Knoxville's iconic Sunsphere. The poster presenters will profit from this event to share their work with attendees in a novel concept for poster session. Be sure to attend to participate in this fun and innovative concept!
On Wednesday afternoon, we will organize two options for excursions to discover Knoxville and its surroundings :
- Great Smoky Mountain National Park Scenic view Tour (150$/person, 40 places)
- A bus tour with an expert guide of the Great Smoky Mountains will bring you on a tour of the scenic highlights of one of the most visited national park in the US. Lunch will be included and departure will happen from Student Union. Plan for good hiking shoes and sun cover as the weather can be very hot in August in Tennessee.
- Oak Ridge National Laboratory Tour ($20/person, 24 persons maximum, first come first serve)
- We will bring the group to the site of Oak Ridge National Laboratory where you can visit some of the facilities (TBD)
On Wednesday evening, we will host a conference dinner at Calhoun's on the river at 7:30PM. We will enjoy typical Tennessee food such as BBQ and more food for the soul. Let us know of any dietary restriction so we make sure you can enjoy the evening.

the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, one of the largest and most visited national parks in the United States. It is the most biologically diverse national park in the United States. About 19,000 species of organisms are known to live in the park, and scientists estimate that as many as 80,000 to 100,000 additional species may also be present.

Market Square is a historic district and pedestrian mall located in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee, United States. Established in 1854 as a market place for regional farmers, the square has developed over the decades into a multipurpose venue that accommodates events ranging from concerts to political rallies, and has long provided a popular gathering place for artists, street musicians, war veterans, and activists. Along with the Market House, Market Square was home to Knoxville's City Hall from 1868 to 1924. Market Square was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
