Description

The ATLASPIX3 system-on-chip is a full-reticle size HV-CMOS detector in 180 nm CMOS technology node. It implements Shunt-LDO regulators and high speed LVDS configuration and data connections. Quad-chip modules have been realized as prototypes for application in large area (10-100 m$^2$) silicon trackers for future collider experiments, where the large numbers of devices will strongly benefit by a reduction in the amount of service connections. The Shunt-LDO regulators are fully integrated in the ASIC, requiring no external components. The performance of the regulators, standalone and within a multi-chip modules, allow to operate the system with a power consumption <200 mW/cm$^{2}$. No appreciable deterioration of noise and threshold performance with respect to individual ASIC has been observed for modules and serial power chains of multiple modules.
